Anniversay of The Canonization of San Isidro Labrador
12 March 2024 marks the 402nd anniversary of the Canonization of “All-Star” five influential saints of the Church.
March 12, 1622, Pope Gregory XV canonized four influential figures of the Counter-Reformation and a Holy Layman. The saints that were canonized on this day were St. Ignatius of Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits); St. Francis Xavier, the Apostle of the Far East (friend of St. Ignatius of Loyola); St. Philip Neri, the Apostle of Rome and Founder of the Congregation of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri (the Oratorians); St. Isidore the Farmer, Patron of Farmers and of Madrid, Spain; and St. Teresa of Avila, the First Woman Doctor of the Church and Reformer of the Carmelite Order.
All Holy Men and Women, pray for us!
