Last 25 January 2024, His Eminence Cardinal Mario Grech, Secretary-General of the Synod, joined the webinar of the National Association of Diocesan Chancellors of the Philippines during his visit to the San Isidro Labrador Parish, Makiling, Calamba City, Laguna, Philippines.

The association is comprised of the chancellors, vice-chancellors, and lay collaborators in the chancery ministry from all the dioceses of the Philippines. In his message,the Cardinal expressed appreciation for their important office in the local Churches.

Cardinal Grech underlined that although they normally work in the Chancery office, their ministry is not of a bureaucractic nature but is a true ecclesial service, marked with a pastoral character, discharged in a synodal way with a deep sense of duty as well as in a spirit of service, as it is a sharing with the mission of their diocesan bishop. He thanked them for their dedication to their ministry.
